PHC suspends removal of \’Bat\’ as PTI symbol

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Tuesday suspended the order of the Election Commission of Pakistan to take back the election symbol of \’Bat\’ from the PTI.

A single bench of the court, comprising Justice Kamran Hayat Miankhel, took up the petition of the PTI and suspended the decision of the ECP.

The court remarked that after the end of the vacation, a double bench will take up the petition and till its final judgement the order of the ECP will remain suspended.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Dec 22 on a petition removed Bat as the election symbol of the PTI, saying it had failed to hold the recent intra-party election in accordance with its constitution.

The PTI in its petition filed in PHC sought back its election symbol with the plea that the court may declare the ECP ruling as illegal.

اپنے معزز جج کو سلام پیش کرتا ہوں۔ جمہوریت اور عدل و انصاف صرف کے پی میں ہے جس پر ہم فخر کرتے ہیں۔

  2. ….but Mr Aseer’s association with PTI apart, I would request him to play his due role in mobilising his area people to garner support for PPP candidate from PK-1 Siraj Ali Khan, as who could be more proud than a teacher when one of his students contesting general elections from the constituency of his beloved teacher.

I am sure Mr Asser – at this point of time – would jump into the fray to garner support for Siraj Ali Khan Advocate, one of his old studnets during his rein at GHS Brep. And – allow me to say – disloyalty form his side in supporting – for whatever reason – Siraj Ali Khan advocate would leave us with no option but to believe his lectures to his students to go a long way in life were nothing but FAKE and DUBIOUS.
